PostSubject: I'm new and popping in to say hello!   Fri 24 Oct - 12:35

Just joined and loving the look of the site. :)

I'm mum two girls aged 9 and 3, one birth, one adopted. We foster and have done for 4 years now, but have been empty since June when our last placement moved onto adoption. We're hoping the Social workers are about to change that though (possible new placement - long term so slowly does it).

We live in SW Wales on the coast but only moved her from Herts in Aug 2007.

We have lots of pets and are a busy family all round. :)

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi and thanks for the welcome! :)

I'm a manager of a tiny fostering group on MSN. We've been around for 5 years now (since I first started the fostering assessment). Only about 5 or 6 of us. MSN closing is a pain. lol
I'm hoping the girls will like it here too and feel comfortable posting.

welcome2 Its so nice to have you here purple. I used to foster teenagers for about 15 years until my health and mental strength took a bashing.....lol. My last foster daughter left us to get married at 19. I miss fostering as now we have an empty house but i know i wouldnt be able to do it anymore because the biggest problems came from the Social Services and they are just somthing i cant cope with anymore.

I am sure you and your friends will feel comfortable here. Everyone is so friendly and there is no pressure on when and how much to post.

Thanks so much bigrin

We have also fostered teens but most succesfully babies and younger children. We were fostering babies at the same time as teens and I don't think they really mix (or not in our experience), when one keeps you up till 4am then the other wakes for the day at 6am it takes its toll! lol!

I have noticed you have a private section and wondered if you have one for foster carers.. no names posted but sometimes there are issues that shouldn't be in a general forum. shhhhhh

Thanks again.
